Know the Do's & Don'ts Of Cold Room to Avoid Product Wastage
v Storage Area should be kept clean, dry & well ventilated.
v All the used Packages, Boxes and Cartons should be disposed off properly after use.
v Product should be stored at least 6” above the ground in Racks or Pallets.
v The Doors, Corners and Floors should be cleaned regularly.
v The Gaskets should be wiped with Wet & Dry Cloths regularly.
v Temperature of the Cold Room should be checked & reported periodically as per the schedule.
v There should be adequate light and safe space for accessing all the material on the Racks.
v Fans & Coils of the units should be cleaned frequently depending on the dust levels in the area.
v All the electrical connections should be tightened at least once in a month.
v Area below the Evaporator and around the drain pipe should be clean & clear.
v Food Items / Other Items OR Cooked / Raw Food OR Toxic / Non – Toxic items should be stored separately and labelled and should not be mixed.
v In the Freezer, all the Frozen Items should be covered in Plastic or Aluminium Film.
v For the Freezer Room, Ante Room is always recommended and if the Freezer is for Ice-Cream storage, then a stand-by unit is also recommended.
v Don’t open the Door of Cold Room more frequently and for longer periods.
v Don’t keep the Floor & Walls dirty & moist; clean and dry them whenever required.
v Don’t mix different types of Food / products while storing them in the Cold Room.
v Don’t keep smelly products open and mix with other items.
v Don’t enter the Cold Room without wearing adequate Warm clothes and necessary safety-wares.
v Don’t service the Cold Room while the power supply is ON.
v Cold Room should not be overloaded more than the quantity it is designed for.
v Don’t Store the products in the walkway.
v Don’t Block the space below / behind the Evaporator and in front of the Door.
v Don’t Service the Cold Room from Unauthorised persons; Always call the Company Technician for servicing.
